The Law Office of Rowena N. Nelson wishes to inform all concerned that as per the order issued by the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals and Administrative Head of the Judicial Branch, Maryland on 22nd May 2020, all Grand Juries that were previously suspended by the order of the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals due to the COVID-19 emergency can resume now at the discretion of the administrative judge or his/her designee.

The Judge also states that while the COVID-19 emergency has continued, the public health strategies have been effective in reducing the transmission rate in Maryland. Such restrictions have been gradually been lessened created a situation for the possible resumption of certain judicial functions while ensuring that the implementation of safeguards as advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Maryland Department of Health is strictly followed.
